The Secretariat to the Special National Coordination Committee (SNCC) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Brunei Darussalam recently conducted a workshop for 25 officers from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), specifically from the Centre of Technology-Enhanced Learning (CTEL) and the TVET Academy’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) unit.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and their relevance to the development of technical and vocational education and training (TVET). It served as a platform to explore how SDG principles can be meaningfully embedded into IBTE’s curriculum design, pedagogical approaches, and institutional practices.
Through interactive discussions and practical examples, the session highlighted the importance of aligning education and training with national and global sustainability agendas. By equipping educators and administrators with this knowledge, the workshop supports IBTE’s efforts to develop a workforce that is not only skilled and competitive, but also socially responsible and future-ready.
This initiative reflects the SNCC Secretariat’s continued commitment to fostering multi-sectoral engagement and capacity-building in support of Brunei Darussalam’s sustainable development journey.
