As part of the Brunei Startup Summit, the Brunei Mentors for Entrepreneurs Network (BMEN) Leadership Lab organized an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)-focused workshop at Rizqun International Hotel. The event provided a platform for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their leadership skills and adopt sustainable, responsible business practices.
The Secretariat to the Special National Coordinating Committee (SNCC) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Brunei Darussalam, participated as a panelist, engaging in interactive discussions on embedding ESG principles into business strategies. By prioritizing sustainability, MSMEs can contribute to Brunei’s economic resilience and drive progress on key SDGs, such as sustainable economic growth (SDG 8), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), and climate action (SDG 13).
The workshop underscored the importance of integrating ESG values in business models, encouraging enterprises to adopt ethical governance, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. Through collaborative efforts, Brunei’s entrepreneurial ecosystem can lead the way in creating long-term, positive impacts for both businesses and communities.
