SNCC Convenes First 2025 Meeting to Drive Sustainable Development Agenda

The Special National Coordination Committee (SNCC) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Brunei Darussalam held its first meeting for the year 2025 on 25 February at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Special National Coordination Committee (SNCC) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Brunei Darussalam held its first meeting for the year 2025 on 25 February at the Prime Minister’s Office. The meeting was chaired by Yang Mulia Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Permanent Secretary (Wawasan), and brought together key stakeholders to review progress and set priorities for the year ahead.

 

During the meeting, members reflected on notable achievements, including strengthened efforts in SDG data collection and improved coordination across government and non-government stakeholders. These milestones mark an important step in enhancing Brunei Darussalam’s capacity to monitor and report on the country’s sustainable development progress.

With a renewed emphasis on strategic collaboration, the committee reaffirmed Brunei Darussalam’s strong commitment to advancing sustainability in alignment with Wawasan Brunei 2035. The meeting also highlighted the continued progress of the SNCC’s subcommittees and working groups, which play a crucial role in ensuring that national efforts remain on track toward achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

 

 

The discussions served as a platform to align upcoming initiatives, encourage cross-sector engagement, and strengthen policy coherence in support of the SDGs at the national level.
